Interview
It’s a half-success, if we get an
opportunity for an interview by
our application. You could take
the biggest step toward the
desired job at this conversation.
To be successful in the interview,
we want to bring some important
sections (from the outlook till
the f.a.q) to your attention.
Preparation for the interview
Try to collect all information about the company: from index of companies, yellow pages, friends, news, and website of the company. Learn more about the business, products, services and developments of the company.
Dress in an elegant way, but feel comfortable yourself. Clean shoes and well-groomed outlook make a good impression; moreover they evolve from that to other personal details. The classical grooming is the best solution.
What we should take with us: CV, school reports, recommendatory letter. In any case we can show it, if it is needed. Your CV summarizes your results, but not foot up, what you can tell about yourself. Get ready for making some explanation of the changes in your resume and all unclear things.
Behaviour
Arrive on time, not too late and not too early. You have to phone there, if it seems you are late. Apart from a bag and a notepad you don’t need to bring anything else. The conservation takes about 15-30 minutes in general. The whole impression is determined by our first answers, then our behaviour.
Introduction: We should speak clear and not to forget to shake hands. It is always the employer who gives hands, if not, you mustn’t give.
Taking place, posture: Take place in front of the employer. Keep off unnecessary movement and gesture.
Eye-contact: Meanwhile the conversation You should always look into your partner’s eyes. If there are more interviewers, we should look at each, while we answer to the questions and communicate, start with the one, who asked.
Exude confidence and optimism.
Questions:
Answer correctly and honestly to the questions. Be yourself, and your message will be more truthful and you convey better impression. Do not speak a lot, the answers should be clear and objective.
Typical questions:
Speak about yourself!
In 2-3 minutes extend the most important information in your CV. If we are apt to get stage-fright, it would be worth to prepare for this question, because it is the most typical one.
Why is it advantageous to employ You?
You can mention here your special command of language or qualification, experience for this position, relevant knowledge. Talk about your success of last workplaces, and which personal characteristics helped you. Talk about what motivated you to accept this task. Every new workplace means new information and knowledge, it affects in a positive way, if you mention that you will not hesitate to learn new things. You are able to and like working in a team.
How much salary do You want?
At first ask back: „ You have defined conception about the salary in this position, haven’t you?” If you don’t get an exact answer to this question, explain your demand of salary with professional experience and the bringing benefits. Nowadays every applicant has to estimate their value in the labour market. If there is a big difference between our demand and the employer offer, ask how about other allowance and possibilities. It’s good to know that the lower chance for salary bargaining we can expect, the lower the position-level and the bigger the company is.
Do You have any questions?
Always have! Ask about the plans, development and learning possibilities and the culture of the company. It is worth to be careful! The questions reflect to your preparation. The prepared and motivated applicant can be identified from the questions.
At the end:
You can politely make an interest about how the selection process will continue, if there will be a new round, when you will get an answer.
Afterthoughts
Administrate your interviews (When?, Where?) and make some notes about them. Write down all important information about the position (name of interviewer, salary, allowances and work time).
